The Grizzlies signed Mathias to a 10-day contract Thursday via a hardship exception.
Memphis is without two players due to injury and has several others in the NBA's COVID-19 health and safety protocols, so Mathias will give the Grizzlies some much-needed depth on the wing in the short term. The 26-year-old previously made his NBA debut with the 76ers in 2020-21, appearing in eight contests and averaging 6.0 points, 1.6 assists, 1.0 three-pointers and 0.9 rebounds in 15.4 minutes per game.
