Rondo was traded to the Grizzlies on Sunday, along with Patrick Beverley and Daniel Oturu, in exchange for Eric Bledsoe, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

The veteran point guard began last season in Atlanta before coming over to the Clippers at the trade deadline. Injuries ultimately prevented Rondo from making a significant impact, and he'll now be shipped to Memphis in a deal that sheds more than $30 million from the Clippers' luxury tax bill next season. While Memphis could find use for Rondo as a mentor and backup to rising star Ja Morant, Wojnarowski notes the Grizzlies are "open-minded" when it comes to potentially rerouting Rondo, Beverley and/or Oturu before the start of the 2021-22 season. If that turns out to be the case, Rondo would likely look to latch on with a title contender as he heads into his age-35 season.
