Heat's Josh Richardson: Doubtful for season opener

Richardson (knee) went through most of the non-contact work during Monday's practice, but is still unlikely to be available for the regular season opener, Manny Navarro of the Miami Herald reports.

Richardson is able to do nearly everything that doesn't involve contact, but considering he's yet to clear that contact hurdle, it's not surprising he's currently considered doubtful for the season opener. The Heat's first game of the regular season is Oct. 26 against the Magic, so there's still a good nine days for Richardson to make some additional progress. However, the most likely scenario is that Richardson starts the season on the sidelines, which would mean Tyler Johnson, Dion Waiters and Wayne Ellington would see the majority of the minutes at shooting guard.
