Heat's Wayne Ellington: Goes off for 22 points Wednesday

Ellington posted 22 points (8-14 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four steals, two rebounds and two assists across 32 minutes in Wednesday's 106-98 win over the Nuggets.

With Dion Waiters (groin), Josh Richardson (ankle) and Justise Winslow (wrist) all sitting out, coach Erik Spoelstra had to lean heavily on Ellington and Rodney McGruder out of necessity. While McGruder started at shooting guard, it was Ellington who ended up seeing the larger share of playing time, and he responded with a strong outing in just his second game back from a deep thigh bruise. All three of the aforementioned injured players are expected to remain out for at least two more games, but Ellington will gradually lose playing time as that trio returns.
