Gay will not play Wednesday against the Rockets due to a sore right heel, Ryan Miller of KSL reports.
The issue caused Gay to miss the first 14 games of the season and has bothered him on and off throughout the last few months. Chances are, his absence Wednesday is only precautionary, but the veteran should be considered day-to-day ahead of Friday's home matchup against Detroit.
