Jones agreed Monday with the Lakers on a two-way contract, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

Los Angeles already has familiarity with Jones through his 11 appearances this season with their G League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers. The second-year wing is averaging 18.2 points, 7.3 assists and 6.1 rebounds across 30.2 minutes per game on the campaign. Jones is expected to see most of his opportunities in South Bay for the balance of the season, but he'll likely report to the NBA squad in the short term while Los Angeles currently has six players in the COVID-19 health and safety protocols and two more players out with long-term injuries.
