Horton-Tucker has been extended a qualifying offer by the Lakers, making him a restricted free agent, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

Horton-Tucker took on an expanded role as a sophomore in 2020-21 compared to his rookie season. In 20.1 minutes per game, he averaged 9.0 points, 2.8 assists, 2.6 rebounds and 1.0 steals. The 20-year-old will likely draw interest from a variety of teams, especially those in a rebuild. Horton-Tucker showed some intriguing upside during the 2020-21 preseason and during times where he saw extended run in the regular season. In the five games where he saw at least 30 minutes, he averaged 14.6 points, 7.8 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 1.8 steals.
