Mozgov and D'Angelo Russell will be traded to the Nets in exchange for Brook Lopez and the 27th overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports.

With the Lakers attempting to get a better look at some of their younger prospects, Mozgov was shut down during the second half of the 2016-17 campaign. That limited him to just 54 games, for which he averaged 7.4 points and 4.9 rebounds over 20.4 minutes. While the move to Brooklyn offers the chance at a fresh start, he's not necessarily guaranteed a huge role, as the Nets essentially took on his contract in an effort to secure the younger and higher upside player in D'Angelo Russell. That said, with Lopez heading to Los Angeles, the Nets currently have just Quincy Acy, Justin Hamilton and Trevor Booker as bigger frontcourt players, so barring any splashy free agent pick-ups in July, Mozgov should at least be a rotation player in Brooklyn.
