Barbosa will represent Brazil in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Mark Purdy of the San Jose Mercury News reports.
Barbosa will be joined in Rio by fellow Warriors teammate Anderson Varejao, who is also a Brazilian national. Both Barbosa and Varejao are free agents this offseason and may have to wait a little while to land with teams as the top available options at their positions choose their destinations. In the meantime, Barbosa will keep himself busy by training for the Olympics, following a season in which he averaged 6.4 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 15.9 minutes per game over 68 appearances.
