Raptors head coach Nick Nurse said prior to Sunday's 144-99 loss to the Cavaliers that Stauskas was unable to finalize a 10-day contract with Toronto after he was unable to pass his COVID-19 intake screening, Michael Grange of Sportsnet.ca reports.

After returning to action following the NBA's decision to postpone Toronto's game Wednesday against the Bulls, the Raptors had only eight players available after two of the players the team targeted for 10-day deals via hardship exemptions -- Stauskas and Brandon Goodwin -- were unable to pass their respective screenings. Stauskas is thus expected to return to his G League club, the Grand Rapids Gold, once he clears the league's COVID-19 health and safety protocols.
