Nuggets' Jameer Nelson: Double-doubles in Saturday loss

Nelson posted 15 points (6-14 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 11 assists, seven rebounds and one steal over 39 minutes in Saturday's 109-105 loss to the Rockets.

Nelson equaled Nikola Jokic and Gary Harris in shot attempts on the night and posted his second consecutive double-digit scoring effort. The veteran guard had supplied single-digit point totals in six straight contests to open March, so the recent uptick in production is somewhat unexpected. However, Nelson remains an above-average ball distributor even when his shot isn't falling, and is capable of offering solid returns in the rebounding category on occasion as well. Coach Mike Malone appears to have settled on Nelson as his starting point guard for the stretch run, keeping him valuable in all formats.
