Nurkic didn't seem concerned about the sprained ankle he suffered in Wednesday's win over the Warriors, Chris Dempsey of the Denver Post reports. "I twist my ankle and will have an MRI [Thursday]. But I think it's nothing special. Just normal."
Nurkic's dismissive comments about the injury would lead us to believe that he suffered a Grade 1 ankle sprain, which would likely result in a multi-day absence rather than a multi-week one. Still, it's best for fantasy owners who are counting on the second-year center to await the results of the MRI on Thursday before rushing to make any roster decisions based on Nurkic's injury. Nurkic has been limited to just six appearances this season after recently returning from offseason knee surgery, so the Nuggets could be motivated to proceed a little more cautiously with the big man than they normally would.
