Morris said Tuesday that he hopes to start on Opening Night, but he's yet to discuss his role with coach Michael Malone, Harrison Wind of DNVR Sports reports.
With Jamal Murray (knee) set to miss at least the first few months of the season, the Nuggets have an obvious hole at point guard and -- on paper, at least -- Morris would make sense as the fill-in starter. It's not a guarantee, however, as the Nuggets tried both Facundo Campazzo and Austin Rivers in the starting five late last season, and both players remain on the roster for 2021-22. Regardless of how the lineup shakes out, Morris projects as the best fantasy option of the three until Murray returns. Last season, the Iowa State product averaged 10.2 points, 2.0 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 0.7 steals and 1.1 threes per game to go with a 48/38/80 shooting line.
