Thompson will start at shooting guard in Saturday's contest against the Mavericks, Justin Verrier of ESPN reports.
Thompson played just five minutes in his Pelicans debut on Thursday, scoring three points. Now that he's getting the start in place of E'Twaun Moore (personal) he'll figure to see a sharp increase in play time. Look for Thompson to return to a role off the bench when Moore returns.
