Hayes amassed 15 points (5-6 FG, 3-3 3Pt, 2-3 FT), four rebounds, one assist and one steal in eight minutes during Saturday's 127-105 loss to the Jazz.
In a telling sign of how badly New Orleans played in the contest -- at one point, Utah held a 40-point lead -- that Hayes came off the bench to lead the team in scoring despite logging only eight minutes. It was easily Hayes' best offensive effort of the campaign, as he had notched double-digit points just once entering Saturday. Hayes has seen his role decrease considerably in his third NBA campaign, averaging 6.1 points and 3.4 boards over just 12.5 minutes per contest.
