The Pelicans assigned Matkovic to the G League's Birmingham Squadron on Tuesday.
Matkovic is averaging 1.2 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in 6.8 minutes across his last five NBA appearances. However, the 23-year-old big man should continue to receive increased playing time while in the G League.
