Pelicans GM Dell Demps said that Pondexter (knee) logged his first "full-go" workout Wednesday and is expected to be ready for the start of training camp, John Reid of the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.

Pondexter didn't appear in a single game during the 2015-16 season after requiring two surgeries within an eight-month span to address his ailing left knee. He believes that the second procedure, which replaced the cartilage in his knee, will provide a 'permanent fix' to the recurring health problems he's had, but the Pelicans nonetheless decided to add some insurance on the wing this offseason by signing Solomon Hill to a four-year, $50 million contract on the first day of free agency. Hill is thus the leading contender to open the season as the Pelicans' starting small forward, but a healthy Pondexter could prompt coach Alvin Gentry to distribute the minutes evenly between the two.
