Grant has suffered torn ligaments in his right thumb and will be out indefinitely, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

Grant suffered the injury in Friday's loss to the Pelicans after landing awkwardly on his thumb in the first quarter. He remained in the game but was showing some struggles from the floor. The news of Grant's injury is a devastating loss for the Pistons, as the 27-year-old is the team's leading scorer with 20.1 points per game. The team provided an update saying that grant will be re-evaluated in six weeks by the medical staff before a more firm timetable is established. Trey Lyles will likely slide into the starting lineup in his place while Josh Jackson and Hamidou Diallo could also be in line for some extended minutes.
