Coach Gregg Popovich has been relying on Forbes to play more minutes at point guard over the last two weeks, Tom Orsborn of the San Antonio Express-News reports.

Forbes was initially recalled from the D-League's Austin Spurs on March 8 to provide an extra body for the second half of a back-to-back set, but remained with the team longer than anticipated after Tony Parker and Dejounte Murray fought injuries. Parker has since returned to action, but with Murray expected to miss another two-to-three weeks with a pelvic bone injury, it looks like Forbes may represent the third-string option at point guard behind Parker and Patty Mills. Though Forbes, an undrafted rookie, earned a roster spot with the Spurs out of training camp mostly on the strength of his outside shooting, he's proven capable in running the offense while seeing spot minutes in each of the team's last seven games. Still, with Forbes averaging 3.0 points and 0.6 rebounds in 10.6 minutes over that stretch, he'll still remain off the fantasy radar in most leagues.
