Bertans started at power forward and compiled 19 points (7-13 FG, 5-9 3Pt), four rebounds, two steals and one assist across 39 minutes in a 102-89 win over the Mavericks on Friday.

With the Spurs keeping only eight players active for the front end of the back-to-back set, Bertans was able to enter the starting five and benefit from an ample workload, surpassing the 20-minute mark for the third time in four games. While he doesn't figure to be a consistent rotation option once the postseason arrives, the Spurs are locked into the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference, so it's likely that coach Gregg Popovich will continue to limit the workloads of key big men like LaMarcus Aldridge and Pau Gasol down the stretch, thereby opening up extended minutes for Bertans over the final three regular-season contests. The rookie has showcased a deft touch from three-point range over his last three appearances, going a combined 12-of-25 from beyond the arc.
