Bates-Diop had 22 points (9-10 FG, 3-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 11 rebounds, three assists and one steal over 34 minutes during Saturday's 133-129 loss to the Heat.
Bates-Diop was one of a handful of Spurs players to step into a larger role Saturday, delivering one of his best performances of the season. He certainly has this in him when afforded playing time, but the fact he had not exceeded 15 minutes in over a month prior to Saturday indicates this should be viewed as an outlier.
