Spurs' Tony Parker: Carried off with apparent knee injury

Parker required assistance off the floor after suffering a left knee injury in the fourth quarter of Wednesday's Game 2 against the Rockets, Paul Garcia of Project Spurs reports.

Parker couldn't put weight on his left knee after falling to the floor in what appeared to be a non-contact injury early in the fourth quarter. The veteran point guard had been in the midst of a brilliant outing, during which he compiled 18 points (8-13 FG, 2-2 3PT), four assists, three rebounds and one steal in 26 minutes prior to his departure. It appears the injury could be fairly significant, so Parker shouldn't be expected to return to Game 2, and his availability for the rest of the series could also be in peril. Expect the Spurs to provide an official update on the extent of his injury along with a projected return timetable prior to Friday's Game 3. Patty Mills and Dejounte Murray would be thrust into larger roles should Parker's injury force him to miss additional time beyond Game 2.
