Suns' Derrick Jones: Survives roster cuts

Jones has made the Suns' regular season roster, Paul Coro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Regarding Jones making the team, coach Earl Watson said, "He's the most athletic player on our team and that says a lot with Marquese Chriss sitting right here. He has the potential to be a defender, 3-point shooter and play above the rim. But he has to get NBA reps and get a NBA work ethic." From the sounds of it, the Suns like Jones' potential, but he'll be buried on the depth chart and will likely need some time to develop further with their D-League affiliate, the Northern Arizona Suns. With that said, he'll struggle to get fantasy worthy minutes during his rookie campaign and is off the radar in the majority of formats.
