Gibson will start in Game 4 against the Hawks on Sunday, Mike Conti of the Atlanta Hawks Radio Network reports. Gibson will receive his second start in a row while Nerlens Noel continues to deal with an ankle injury. In the Game 3 start, Gibson posted just four points (2-6 FG), six rebounds and one block across 26 minutes.
Gibson will start Friday's Game 3 against the Hawks, Brad Rowland of PeachtreeHoops.com reports. With Nerlens Noel (ankle) dealing with an injury and possibly playing limited minutes, coach Tom Thibodeau will opt to start Gibson. In the series, Gibson has averaged 5.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.0 steals, 1.5 assists and 1.0 blocks in 27.0 minutes.
Gibson had 11 points (5-6 FG, 1-2 FT), six rebounds, two assists and two blocks in Friday's loss to the Suns. Nerlens Noel fouled out in 22 minutes, so Gibson was called upon for a slightly larger workload (25 minutes) off the bench. The veteran took full advantage, scoring in double figures for the first time in over a month while racking up a pair of blocks to give him eight total over the last three games.
Gibson will come off the bench for Wednesday's game against the Nuggets. With Nerlens Noel rejoining the starting five after a one-game absence, Gibson will return to his usual bench role. The 35-year-old is averaging 5.2 points and 5,6 rebounds in 20.9 minutes per game this season.
Gibson registered six points (3-5 FG, 0-1 3Pt), 12 rebounds, five blocks and two assists across 33 minutes in Monday's win over the Grizzlies. Gibson started for the first time since April 14 due to Nerlens Noel's ankle injury, and he responded well to the opportunity with strong contributions on defense and efficiency -- albeit in a limited role -- at the other end. Gibson figures to work as the Knicks' starting center if Noel misses any additional time, but even after Monday's performance he's not much of a fantasy consideration.
