  • Holiday and the Pelicans have agreed to a five-year, $126 million contract, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. The deal includes a bonus that could increase the deal to $150 million, and a fifth-year player option. It was expected that New Orleans would be the top candidate for Holiday, so it is no surprise they were able to come to an agreement so quickly. The 27-year-old has averaged 15.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 6.9 assists, 1.5 steals, 0.5 blocks, and 1.3 triples across 31.4 minutes per game with the team over the previous four seasons. He is in a unique situation playing with two elite big-men in Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins, whom the team acquired via trade last season. It will continue to be a work in progress creating chemistry between the three, and it remains to be seen how the team will fill out the lineup around them. The California product saw his points per game decrease slightly to 13.8 following the trade, but the rest of his numbers stayed relatively the same. He will now enter his prime in a stable situation, and two of the best players in the game in the frontcourt.

  • Jrue Holiday: To meet with Pelicans on Saturday
    By RotoWire Staff

Holiday, an unrestricted free agent, will meet with the Pelicans on Saturday, Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical reports. Believed to be the Pelicans' top free agent priority, Holiday will meet with the team early Saturday in hopes of reaching an agreement. While remaining in New Orleans appears to be Holiday's first choice, he'll draw interest from other teams in search of an upgrade at point guard. New Orleans can sign Holiday to a five-year deal, while other franchises can only offer four years.

  • Holiday managed 10 points (5-15 FG, 0-4 3Pt), 10 assists and six rebounds over 32 minutes in Saturday's 123-101 loss to the Warriors. Holiday was expected to take on additional scoring responsibility with DeMarcus Cousins (Achilles), Anthony Davis (rest) and E'Twaun Moore (ankle) all sidelined, but he largely played the role of ball distributor while posting his second double-digit assist effort in the last three contests. Holiday also hit double digits in the scoring column for the third time in the last four contests despite shooting under 40 percent for the second time in the last five games overall. Holiday projects for solid multi-category production for the last two games of the season, especially if Cousins and/or Davis are sidelined.

  • Holiday scored 18 points (6-13 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 4-4 FT) and added 13 assists, four rebounds, one steal and one block in 39 minutes during Tuesday's 134-131 loss to the Nuggets. This was Holiday's 13th double-double, and the 13 assists matched his second-best mark this season. He has rebounded from his poor scoring night on Friday, while his passing and rebounding have remained strong throughout. He is a strong fantasy point guard in all settings.

  • Holiday posted four points (2-9 FG, 0-4 3Pt), eight assists, five rebounds, three steals and two blocked shots over 32 minutes in Friday's 117-89 win over the Kings. He was ice-cold from the floor, but Holiday made a solid contribution defensively, and was characteristically effective in getting the ball to his teammates with a game-leading eight dimes. Holiday usually posts decent numbers in a variety of categories, and while this was a bad shooting night for him, starting a veteran point guard on a hot team is hard to pass up. He remains a viable start in all formats.
