  • Jarell Martin: Acquired by Stockton

Martin has been acquired off waivers by Stockton. Martin is just a season removed from playing 42 games in the NBA, so there's a good chance he will see plenty of work with the G League Kings as he looks to get his name back on the NBA radar.

  • Jarell Martin: Heads overseas

Martin signed a contract with the Shenzhen Leopards on Friday, Emiliano Carchia of Sportando.com reports. Martin last appeared in the NBA with the Magic in 2018, averaging 2.7 points and 2.7 rebounds over 42 contests. He'll aim to have a greater impact overseas.

  • Cavaliers' Jarell Martin: Let go by Cavs

Martin was waived by the Cavaliers on Saturday, Chris Fedor of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. Martin appeared in four preseason games with the Cavaliers. He averaged a solid 20.3 fantasy points in 19.0 minutes, but the team has decided to look elsewhere.

  • Cavaliers' Jarell Martin: Swipes three steals in 27 minutes

Martin generated nine points (2-6 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 3-4 FT), seven rebounds, three steals, one assist, and one block in 27 minutes during Tuesday's 118-95 loss to the Celtics. Martin drew the start with Tristan Thompson (groin), John Henson (groin), and Ante Zizic (foot) all sidelined. Martin made the most of his opportunity, turning in a solid defensive effort while nearing a double-double. He's unlikely to hold much value in fantasy this season unless the aforementioned injuries linger.

  • Cavaliers' Jarell Martin: Draws another start

Martin is starting Tuesday's preseason game against the Celtics, Spencer Davies of BBall Insiders reports. With Tristan Thompson (rest), John Henson (groin) and Ante Zizic (foot) all ruled out, Martin will enter the starting five again. He'll start alongside Collin Sexton, Matthew Dellavedova, Cedi Osman and Kevin Love.

  • Cavaliers' Jarell Martin: Starting Sunday

Martin will start Sunday's game against the Celtics, Angel Gray of Fox Sports Ohio reports. The Cavs went with Tristan Thompson at center on Friday, but they'll give Martin a shot to start alongside Larry Nance, Cedi Osman, Matthew Dellavedova and Collin Sexton.

  • Cavaliers' Jarell Martin: Inks deal with Cleveland

Martin signed a one-year, non-guaranteed contract with the Cavaliers on Friday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. Martin's free agency comes to an end Friday after joining the Cavaliers. The former LSU standout is coming off a season in Orlando where he was unable to carve out a significant role in the team's rotation. He'll join Cleveland now for training camp and preseason but may have a tough time making the final roster given the nature of his contract.

  • Jarell Martin: Enters market as UFA

Martin will be an unrestricted free agent this summer after the Magic declined to extend him a qualifying offer for the 2019-20 season prior to Saturday's deadline, Roy Parry of the Orlando Sentinel reports. Since Martin finished out the final year of his rookie deal in 2018-19, the Magic would have had the right to match any offer he received from the league's other 29 teams had they elected to extend a qualifying offer. The Magic's reluctance to do so suggests the team has limited interest in bringing the big man back after he averaged 2.7 points and 1.7 rebounds in 7.8 minutes per game over 42 appearances in his lone season with the club. Martin's numbers weren't much better in his first three years in the NBA in Memphis, so he may be forced to settle for a deal with limited guaranteed money attached to it as he hits the open market.

  • Magic's Jarell Martin: Sees seven minutes in Sunday's loss

Martin managed three points (1-3 FG, 1-2 3Pt) and two rebounds in seven minutes during Sunday's 105-97 loss to the Grizzlies. Martin has appeared in two of the last three games after being a healthy scratch for six straight tilts. Given that he's averaging just 8.1 minutes per game across 34 appearances this season, Martin can be avoided across all fantasy formats.

  • Magic's Jarell Martin: Shows off range in win

Martin posted eight points (3-5 FG, 2-3 3Pt), one rebound and one block across 16 minutes Monday in the Magic's 122-103 win over the Hawks. After a five-game stretch in which he failed to see the floor, Martin has re-entered the rotation as the backup power forward with Aaron Gordon (back) sidelined. Gordon turned in a full practice Tuesday and is trending toward suiting up Wednesday in Brooklyn, so there's a decent possibility Martin will drop back out of the rotation if the contest is reasonably competitive.

  • Magic's Jarell Martin: Back to bench Monday

Martin will come off the bench Monday against the Wizards. Martin entered the starting five Sunday with Aaron Gordon sidelined and finished with seven points and six boards in 27 minutes of action. Gordon is back healthy Monday, so Martin will return to his usual role as off the bench, where he's highly unlikely to be fantasy-relevant.

  • Magic's Jarell Martin: Nice production in start

Martin had seven points (2-10 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, three assists, two steals, and one block in 27 minutes during Sunday's 115-89 victory over New York. Martin set season-highs in just about every category Sunday, moving into the starting lineup, replacing the injured Aaron Gordon (ankle). While the shooting was not there, he did contribute across the board and certainly appeared comfortable on the floor. If Gordon is forced to miss any more time, Martin will likely be the beneficiary and is worth a flier in deeper formats.

  • Magic's Jarell Martin: Will start Sunday

Martin is in Sunday's starting lineup against the Knicks, Dante Marchitelli of Fox Sports Florida reports. With Aaron Gordon officially out with an ankle injury, Martin will see an increased role as expected. He's averaging 2.7 points along with 2.1 rebounds through the first seven games of the season.

  • Magic's Jarell Martin: Could be set for increased role

Martin could pick up increased minutes Sunday if Aaron Gordon (ankle) doesn't play, John Denton of OrlandoMagic.com reports. Gordon is nursing a lingering left ankle injury, and his status at this point is very much up in the air. Coach Steve Clifford implied that if Gordon doesn't play, he'd likely pivot to Martin, rather than moving rookie Mo Bamba into an unfamiliar role. Martin played just six minutes in Friday's win over Washington, and he's yet to score more than six points in any of the seven games in which he's appeared.

  • Magic's Jarell Martin: Scores six points in Friday's loss

Martin managed six points (3-4 FG, 0-1 3Pt), two rebounds, and one assist in 12 minutes during Friday's 120-88 loss to the Hornets. Martin was a healthy scratch during Wednesday's season-opening win over the Heat. However, his ability to stretch the floor with his shot could help him earn regular minutes as a backup power forward on a team that's desperately lacking on the offensive end. With that being said, Martin can likely be left on the waiver wire in most leagues.

  • Magic's Jarell Martin: Traded to Orlando

Martin was traded from the Grizzlies to the Magic on Monday in exchange for Dakari Johnson, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. The Grizzlies are also reportedly sending cash to Orlando in a deal that is expected to open up $1 million of cap space in Memphis. Martin played in 73 games (36 starts) this past season, averaging career highs across the board of 7.7 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.0 assist across 22.8 minutes. Look for him to slot in as depth behind Aaron Gordon and Jonathan Isaac, likely competing with Khem Birch for reserve minutes.

  • Grizzlies' Jarell Martin: Fine third season

Martin averaged 7.7 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.0 assists across 73 games played with Memphis during the 2017-18 NBA season. Martin established career highs in almost every statistical category in what was his best season of his young three-year career. The former first-round pick from LSU is set to make around $2.4 million next year as he enters his final year of his four-year contract signed back in July of 2015.

  • Grizzlies' Jarell Martin: Done for season with ankle injury

Martin (ankle) will miss the remainder of the season with a left ankle sprain, Michael Wallace of Grind City Media reports. Martin suffered what the team is calling a serious ankle sprain in Wednesday's loss to the Pelicans, and he'll be held out of the Grizzlies' remaining four contests. In order to fill his roster spot, Memphis will sign Omari Johnson from the Memphis Hustle of the G League.

  • Grizzlies' Jarell Martin: Out Friday with left ankle injury

Martin is out for Friday's contest against the Kings as a result of a left ankle injury. It's not exactly clear when Martin picked up the injury, though he played just 22 minutes in the team's most recent game after seeing 30-plus minutes in six straight tilts. As a result of his absence, Ivan Rabb is a strong candidate to see extra run at power forward.

  • Grizzlies' Jarell Martin: Flirts with double-double in loss Thursday

Martin produced 12 points (5-15 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), and eight rebounds across 32 minutes in Thursday's 140-79 loss to the Hornets. Martin started with Gasol out Thursday night, and was one of the bright spots in an ugly loss. He shot extremely poorly from the floor, needing 15 shots for just 12 points, but he was one of only three Grizzlies players to reach the double-digit threshold. He will continue to be in a rotation at big man going forward, but could see more minutes in what should be deemed a lost season.
