Martin generated six points (3-5 FG, 0-1 3Pt), eight rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block in 32 minutes Wednesday in the Hornets' 109-98 win over the Heat. Though Martin turned in a well-rounded stat line, those that used him in DFS or streamed him in season-long fantasy were probably expecting more from him while he started in place of an ill Terry Rozier. As a low-usage player for the Hornets, Martin's upside is fairly limited, but he at least appears to have a path to steady playing time. He's logged no fewer than 23 minutes in any of his last nine games, averaging 7.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.2 steals over that stretch.
Martin will start Wednesday's contest against the Heat. Terry Rozier (illness) is out, so Martin will draw the start. In two previous starts, Martin has averaged 12.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.0 steal in 35.0 minutes.
Martin will come off the bench Thursday against the Nuggets, Rod Boone of The Athletic reports. With Devonte' Graham (ankle) back in the starting five, Martin will move back to a reserve role. That said, he'll likely retain sixth-man status. Over his past nine appearances off the bench, he's averaged 7.2 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 25.3 minutes.
Martin produced 13 points (6-8 FG, 1-1 3Pt), five rebounds, four assists and two steals in 34 minutes during Tuesday's 104-103 loss to the Spurs. Martin finished with as many turnovers as assists but otherwise had a superb night while drawing the start in place of Devonte' Graham (ankle). In fact, Martin matched his career high in scoring and also earned 30-plus minutes for the third time in his last eight appearances.
Martin will start Tuesday's game against the Spurs, Hornets radio voice John Foicke reports. With Devonte' Graham nursing a sore ankle, Martin will move into the starting lineup for the first time since Feb. 4. He's played extended minutes off the bench over the past month-plus, but he hasn't done much to put himself on the fantasy radar.
