Edwards was recalled from the G League on Thursday, Kelly Iko of The Athletic reports. Edwards has played just 16 total NBA minutes, so his presence shouldn't affect the Rockets' rotation. He'll likely continue to spend most of his time in the G League.
The Rockets assigned Edwards to the G League's Rio Grande Valley Vipers on Monday. He'll move back to the affiliate while the Rockets bring in Gary Clark and Isaiah Hartenstein from Rio Grande Valley ahead of Monday's matchup with the Mavericks. Edwards, who has been playing on a two-way contract with Houston this season, has appeared in just two games at the NBA level.
Edwards has been recalled from the G League, Alykhan Bijani of The Athletic reports. The Rockets sent Danuel House down to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, and they'll recall Edwards in his place, essentially swapping one wing out for another. Edwards has appeared in just one NBA game this season, but given the Rockets' laundry list of injuries, he could be called into action over the next handful of games.
Edwards (undisclosed) did not play in Monday's contest against South Bay. The starting small forward for the Vipers, Edwards was just coming off one of his best performances with the team prior to suffering any injury. It's unclear if the 23-year-old is slated to miss extended time, or if Monday's designation was purely a maintenance-related issue.
Edwards scored 17 points (7-15 FG, 3-10 3Pt) to go along with nine rebounds and three assists in the loss Thursday to the Blue. Edwards continues to see plenty of playing time when he's available for the Vipers, as the two-way player is now averaging 34.6 minutes in three games. The forward started at point guard Thursday and could continue to see time there if Angel Rodriguez remains limited with an undisclosed injury.
