Dozier signed a one-year contract with the Nuggets on Monday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. Dozier didn't see much NBA action a season ago, averaging 3.2 points along with 2.8 rebounds over six games with Boston. He'll likely battle for a bench role with his new squad.
Dozier finished with 22 points (8-14 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds, seven assists and a steal across 24 minutes during Friday's 108-102 win over Toronto in the consolation bracket of the Las Vegas Summer League. Dozier is now with his third team in his three-year NBA career. With the departure of J.J. Redick and Jimmy Butler, the Sixers could definitely use a sharpshooter and ball-handler, which is probably why the South Carolina product is getting an extended look in the Summer League.
Dozier registered 12 points (5-14 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 11 rebounds, five assists and two steals over 37 minutes Tuesday against the Wizards. Although Dozier didn't lead the bench in scoring, he did log more minutes than any other reserve and he secured the team's lone double-double in a 116-110 victory. The South Carolina product is unlikely to sniff the court much during the playoffs, however, as he's appeared in just five matchups all season for Boston, including Tuesday's performance.
Dozier finished Sunday's loss to the Drive with 23 points (9-18 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 3-7 FT), 13 rebounds, five assists, one steal and one blocked shot. Dozier has emerged as a do-it-all threat in the G League and continues to soak up large amounts of minutes, averaging 35.4 per contest. The decision to release Walter Lemon Jr. has opened up the offense for Dozier even more and the guard has thrived as a result, blowing away his 2017-18 season totals (13.0 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists) in a similar amount of work with the Red Claws.
Dozier finished Wednesday's loss to Westchester with 22 points (9-17 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 1-6 FT), six rebounds, five assists and a steal. Dozier earned midseason All-NBA G League honors as part of a fantastic second G League campaign. Boasting 21.6 points, 6.9 assists and 6.7 rebounds per game, the 6-6 guard is quietly one of the more reliable fantasy options in the G League, despite the Red Claws seemingly disinterest in scoring (105.4 points per game, sixth lowest figure in the G League).
