Okogie's (lower leg) status for Monday's Las Vegas Summer League title game is unclear, Darren Wolfson of Skor North reports. Okogie departed Saturday's game with a bruise on his left shin, and while he's considered "fine" by team officials, the Wolves may still opt to sit him out in what's ultimately a meaningless contest.
Okogie won't return to Saturday's summer league game due to a left lower leg contusion. Okogie sustained the injury at some point during the first half and the severity of the issue remains unclear. Jared Terrell started the second half in his absence for the Timberwolves.
Okogie finished with 11 points (3-8 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 3-4 FT), four assists, two rebounds and one steal across 21 minutes during the Timberwolves' 90-87 win over the Heat in a Las Vegas Summer League game Wednesday. Okogie is now averaging 12.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.0 block across 22.3 minutes over four summer league games. However, his shot has been a disappointment overall, as the second-year guard has drained just 31.0 percent of his attempts in the desert. The 2018 first-round pick has a considerable NBA experience advantage on many of the players he's facing after logging 74 games in his rookie campaign, but the same issues that led to a 38.6 percent success rate from the floor last season seem to still be present thus far.
Okogie totaled 15 points (4-12 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 5-7 FT), seven rebounds and three blocks across 22 minutes in Sunday's 90-66 win over the Hawks in the Las Vegas Summer League. Timberwolves fans and fantasy players alike are very familiar with Okogie, who served as an ample injury replacement in Minnesota's backcourt last season. Okogie is currently in the driver's seat for a starting role, but he'll face some competition from rookie Jarrett Culver and Keita Bates-Diop.
Okogie had six points (2-7 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five steals, and two assists in 22 minutes during Friday's 111-109 win over the Heat. Okogie finished with a career high in steals despite playing less than half the game. The 20-year-old rookie continues to put forth admirable effort on the defensive end, but his inefficient and inconsistent offense limits his value to deeper formats.
