  • Broekhoff signed with the Sixers on Friday, Justin Grasso of SI.com reports. How large a role Broekhoff will play for his new team remains to be seen. He appeared in 17 games for the Mavericks earlier this season, scoring 4.2 points and grabbing 2.5 rebounds in 10.6 minutes per game. His primary value to the Sixers will be his ability to knock down shots from deep, as he's shot a career 40.3 percent from beyond the arc in 59 NBA games.

  • Broekhoff will be waived by the Mavericks to clear a roster spot, Mark Stein of The New York Times reports. Broekhoff will head to waivers in order for Dallas to make room for Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, who was recently bought out by Charlotte. Broekhoff played in 17 contests this season for the Mavs, averaging 4.2 points and 2.5 rebounds in 10.6 minutes per game.

  • Broekhoff will come off the bench Saturday against the Hawks, Callie Caplan of The Dallas Morning News reports. Broekhoff started Friday's game but will come off the bench this time around. In his 11 previous appearances off the bench, he's averaged 3.8 points and 1.4 rebounds in 7.7 minutes.

  • Broekhoff is starting Friday's game against Houston, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports. Broekhoff will surprisingly draw his first start of the season after logging just eight minutes Tuesday against the Suns. He's appeared in just 11 games this year, averaging 3.8 points and 1.4 rebounds in 7.7 minutes.

  • Broekhoff (lower leg) provided five points (2-3 FG, 1-2 3Pt) and one rebound over eight minutes Tuesday in the Mavericks' 133-104 loss to the Suns. Following a four-week absence due to a fibula injury, Broekhoff was cleared to play in advance of Monday's 107-97 win over the Thunder. He didn't end up playing in that contest, but the Mavs' big deficit in the final game of the back-to-back set allowed Broekhoff to get some run in garbage time. Even before the injury, Broekhoff wasn't a fixture in coach Rick Carlisle's rotation at any point, and that probably won't change in the second half of the season.
