Jones was recalled from the G League by San Antonio on Sunday, Tom Osborn of the San Antonio Express-News reports. Jones joins San Antonio as the team deals with COVID-19 after four players recently tested positive. In seven appearances for the Austin Spurs this season, the 21-year-old point guard has been averaging 18.1 points, 9.7 assists and 5.3 boards per contest.
Jones scored 30 points (8-14 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 11-11 FT), and added 11 assists, three rebounds, and one steal in 29 minutes during Saturday's 115-108 G League win over Erie. Jones had scored 34 points total in his first two G League games of the season but went absolutely nuts in this one. He also notched his second double-double of the campaign and has no fewer than seven dimes in any of his appearances thus far. The 21-year-old also has yet to miss any of his 17 free-throw attempts.
Jones put up 18 points (5-14 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 16 assists, four rebounds and two steals in 34 minutes of Wednesday's 119-111 G League win over Memphis. Jones didn't have a great shooting effort, but he more than made up for it with a game-high 16 assists. As a result, he was one of two Austin players to notch a double-double on the evening.
Jones was assigned to the Austin Spurs of the G League on Sunday, Jeff Garcia of News 4 San Antonio reports. The rookie second-round pick averaged 3.0 minutes in nine appearances this season, and he'll head to the G League to receive more regular playing time.
