Bowman totaled 27 points (10-16 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 10 assists, eight rebounds and two steals during Friday's win over Agua Caliente. Making his first appearance in the G League this season, Bowman was fantastic in 35 minutes of action Friday, as the guard lead the team with 27 points while flirting with a triple-double. Bowman won't likely spend a majority of time with Santa Cruz this season to make him a consistent fantasy option in most G League fantasy formats however.
Bowman will not travel with the team to Utah, and will instead make his Santa Cruz Warriors debut on Friday, Drew Shiller reports. Although Bowman played a pivotal role in the NBA while D'Angelo Russell was forced to miss time due to injury, routinely playing 30 minutes per game, the rookie saw his play time diminish considerably once Russell returned. The 22-year-old is now set to see his first action in the G League on Friday.
Bowman will come off the bench Wednesday against the Bulls, Anthony Slater of The Athletic reports. Draymond Green (heel) returns from a three-game absence to start at point guard, pushing Bowman back to the bench. The 22-year-old still figures to be heavily involved given the Warriors have only nine available players.
Bowman finished with 24 points (9-17 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 4-4 FT), five assists, three rebounds, three steals and a blocked shot across 39 minutes in Monday's 100-97 loss to the Thunder. As long as D'Angelo Russell remains out of the lineup, there will be ample room for Bowman to continue his excellent play. Coach Steve Kerr was desperate for production in the backcourt, so much so that he put Draymond Green at the point for a few games. That's an odd fit for Green, and now that Kerr's seen Bowman's success, he'll probably stick with the rookie and put Green in the frontcourt, where he can be more productive once he returns from his current injury.
Bowman scored 17 points (7-16 FG, 3-6 3Pt), six rebounds, five assists and four steals in 36 minutes of a 113-109 loss to Utah on Friday. Bowman set a new career-best with four steals in the contest. The rookie has now scored in double-digits in three of his last four games while taking on a bigger role for the Warriors. It's encouraging that Bowman is beginning to fill the box score, as this was one of the undrafted Boston College product's most complete performances. He'll face Oklahoma City on Monday.
