76ers' Al Horford: Says time off beneficial

Al Horford admitted his health "probably wasn't where he wanted [it] to be" so this season and that the time off has been beneficial, Rich Hofmann of The Athletic reports.Horford struggled at times during the season, shooting just 44.2 percent from the field, 33.7 percent from three and 75.3 percent from the charity stripe. It seems the hiatus has given the 34-year-old time to rest his body, and the Sixers are likely hoping he can rise to the level of play we saw out of him in Boston. Over 46 playoff games with the Celtics, he averaged 15.1 points on shooting splits of 53/43/81 plus 7.7 rebounds and 4.3 assists in 34.8 minutes.

76ers' Al Horford: Another strong showing

Al Horford collected 20 points (8-11 FG, 4-6 3Pt), 10 rebounds, six assists and two blocks in 29 minutes during Wednesday's 124-106 win over the Pistons.Horford was extremely efficient while turning in a well-rounded stat line in the lopsided victory. He hasn't been much of a factor in lineups with both Joel Embiid (shoulder) and Ben Simmons (back), the former having just returned following a five-game absence while the latter is rehabbing his injury. Nevertheless, with the league suspending play for the time being, Horford's recent hot streak has been halted for now.

    76ers' Al Horford: Nears triple-double

Al Horford posted 22 points (9-16 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 10 rebounds, seven assists and one block in 36 minutes during Saturday's 118-114 loss at Golden State.Horford has been heavily criticized this season, but he seems to be turning things around with other Sixers regulars out hurt. This 22-point effort was his highest output since Nov. 2, and now he has posted double-digit scoring performances in five of his last six starts. He is averaging 14.2 points while shooting 42.3 percent from three-point range during that stretch.

76ers' Al Horford: Contributes across the board in win

Al Horford put up 15 points (5-10 FG, 4-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), nine assists, seven rebounds, one steal and one block in 34 minutes during Thursday's 115-106 victory over the Knicks. When Ben Simmons went down with a back issue, an opportunity arose for Horford to put some of his playmaking skills on display, and he answered the call. This was a gem of a stat line from the 33-year old, topped off by his nine dimes. Joel Embiid (shoulder sprain) was also out in this one, but fantasy owners will still hope that this type of performance wasn't a one-game fluke. The team is losing 8.2 assists per game in the absence of Simmons, so there's a chance the distributing duties get spread across multiple players. Horford's fantasy value is still sitting inside the top 75 in nine-category leagues, but he's fallen outside of the top 125 over the past month of play. Maybe this game will kickstart his value, and get him back on the right foot.

76ers' Al Horford: Quiet in start

Al Horford recorded seven points (3-8 FG, 1-4 3Pt), eight rebounds, five assists and a block across 30 minutes in Monday's 129-112 win over the Hawks. With Ben Simmons (back) out, Horford entered the starting lineup and was mostly ineffective versus his former team. Per usual, the veteran filled the stat sheet in multiple categories, but he struggled with his shot (37.5 percent) and failed to get to the free-throw line. Nonetheless, it was encouraging to see Horford log 30 minutes, which he hadn't done in any of the prior three games. With Simmons out indefinitely, Horford could remain a starter for the foreseeable future, which would be a significant boost to his fantasy value.

76ers' Al Horford: Back in starting lineup

Al Horford will get the start at power forward in Monday's game against the Hawks, Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.Horford has played a reserve role in the Philadelphia 76ers' past three games, marking the first time he's come off the bench since his rookie season. While he has yet to come out of his slump, the 76ers have opted to put him back in the starting unit due to the absence of Ben Simmons (back). As a result, Horford figures to see a slightly increased workload.

76ers' Al Horford: Quiet off bench

Al Horford scored six points (2-5 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-3 FT), along with three rebounds, two assists, two blocks and a steal across 19 minutes in a 112-104 win over Brooklyn on Thursday. After scoring nine points (3-4 FG) in his initial outing off the bench, Horford's output shrunk further Thursday. The situation is fluid for the Philadelphia 76ers and they are paying Horford too much money to simply etch him out of the rotation. However, with another primetime game awaiting Philadelphia on Saturday in Milwaukee, Horford can't be counted on to produce at a replacement level currently.

76ers' Al Horford: Bench role expected to continue

Al Horford told reporters Wednesday that he expects to come off the bench moving forward, Kyle Neubeck of reports. In the Philadelphia 76ers' last game before the break, coach Brett Brown moved Horford to the bench, which was the first time the big man has come off the pine since his 2007-08 rookie campaign. Philadelphia was able to secure a 110-103 victory over the contending Clippers, which may be what's prompting the role switch to continue. It's unclear if Horford's workload will change dramatically, however. He saw 28 minutes against the Clippers, and he's averaging 30.9 minutes on the season.

76ers' Al Horford: Muted numbers in bench role

Al Horford tallied nine points (3-4 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, three assists and two blocks across 28 minutes Tuesday in the Philadelphia 76ers' 110-103 win over the Clippers.Horford's move to the bench for the first time this season didn't yield any sort of meaningful improvement in his production, as his numbers were roughly on par with the 8.0 points, 6.0 boards and 2.8 assists he averaged in the prior five contests. Coach Brett Brown's decision to separate Horford and Joel Embiid more frequently at least translated to a win over a quality opponent, so it wouldn't be surprising if Horford sticks on the second unit moving forward. The arrangement could come with a slight downturn in playing time for Horford, which would make it increasingly more difficult to hold him in shallower leagues.

76ers' Al Horford: To come off bench

Al Horford will be moved to a reserve role for Tuesday's game against the the Clippers, Ky Carlin of USA Today reports. With the Philadelphia 76ers and Horford struggling, coach Brett Brown has opted to move Furkan Korkmaz into the starting lineup. This comes after his zero points (0-6 FG, 0-2 3PT) in 30 minutes performance against the Bulls. The veteran big man has not come off the bench in a game he was available for since his rookie season in 2007. It is unclear if this will continue being the plan going forward, but as of now the 33-year-old figures so see a relatively thinner workload.
