  • Hawks' Jalen Johnson: Out at least three weeks

The Hawks announced Thursday that Johnson has been diagnosed with a Grade 2 lateral ankle sprain and will be re-evaluated in approximately three weeks. Johnson exited Tuesday's game against Miami due to his ankle injury, and he's facing a multi-week absence following the results of his MRI. Whether Johnson will be back in action at any point during postseason play likely depends on whether the Hawks advance past the Play-In Tournament. In Johnson's absence, Vit Krejci, De'Andre Hunter (rest) and Wesley Matthews (hamstring) could see increased roles.

  • Hawks' Jalen Johnson: Won't play Wednesday

Johnson (ankle) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Hornets. Johnson sprained his right ankle during the third quarter of Tuesday's 117-111 double-overtime loss to the Heat and will remain sidelined for the second half of Atlanta's back-to-back set. He has only two more chances to suit up during the regular season -- Friday in Minnesota and Sunday in Indiana -- before Atlanta faces a single-elimination matchup in the Play-In Tournament against Chicago next week.

  • Hawks' Jalen Johnson: Sprains ankle again

Johnson is out for the remainder of Tuesday's game versus the Heat due to a sprained right ankle, Mike Conti of the Atlanta Hawks Radio Network reports. He will end the contest with 13 points (6-7 FG, 1-1 3Pt), eight rebounds, three assists and one steal in 24 minutes Johnson rolled his ankle on a drive to the basket with 5:25 remaining in the third quarter. Given that the third-year forward has now sprained his ankle three times this season, he's unlikely to be available for Wednesday's game against the Hornets.

  • Hawks' Jalen Johnson: Grabs team-high 16 boards Thursday

Johnson logged six points (3-12 FG, 0-1 3Pt), 16 rebounds, four assists and one steal across 36 minutes during Thursday's 109-95 loss to the Mavericks. Johnson couldn't get it going in the scoring column Thursday, but his 16 rebounds tied a season high he set Jan. 10 against the 76ers. He briefly left in the second half after his knee collided with Daniel Gafford, but Johnson was able to return in the fourth quarter. Since the All-Star break, Johnson is averaging 17.2 points on 47.1 percent shooting, 9.4 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.1 steals over 33.6 minutes per game.

  • Hawks' Jalen Johnson: First career triple-double

Johnson closed with 28 points (10-14 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 6-7 FT), 14 rebounds, 11 assists, one block and four steals over 37 minutes during Wednesday's 121-113 win over the Pistons. In his second game back from an ankle injury that sidelined him for six contests, Johnson produced his first career triple-double to help the Hawks clinch a spot in the Play-In Tournament. The third-year forward has had a breakout campaign but has been on the court for only eight of 17 games since the beginning of March, so his minutes could be limited over the final couple weeks if Atlanta prioritizes keeping him healthy for the postseason.

Johnson is in the starting five for Wednesday's game versus the Pistons, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports. Johnson will replace Vit Krejci in the starting lineup after coming off the bench in his return to action Monday. • Hawks' Jalen Johnson: Coming off bench Monday

Johnson (ankle) will play off the bench in Monday's game against the Bulls, Lauren L. Williams of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Johnson will be making his return from a six-game absence due to a right ankle sprain, so the Hawks are likely bringing him off the bench as a means of managing his minutes. Atlanta head coach Quin Snyder hasn't said that Johnson will be under a specific minute restriction, but fantasy managers may still want to wait until after Monday's game before including the young forward in active lineups.

  • Hawks' Jalen Johnson: Will return Monday

Johnson (ankle) will play Monday against the Bulls, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. Johnson will snap a six-game streak of absences due to a right ankle sprain but may face some limitations. The third-year forward is in the midst of a breakout campaign, averaging 16.1 points, 8.6 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.9 blocks in 34.0 minutes per game across 51 appearances (48 starts).

  • Hawks' Jalen Johnson: Present for shootaround

Johnson (ankle), who is questionable for Monday's game against the Bulls, was present for the Hawks' morning shootaround, Lauren L. Williams of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Johnson has missed the last six games due to a right ankle sprain, but he's trending in the right direction ahead of Monday's matchup. If he's able to suit up against Chicago, it wouldn't be surprising to see him carry a minutes restriction.

  • Hawks' Jalen Johnson: Questionable for Monday

Johnson (ankle) is questionable for Monday's game against the Bulls, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports. • Hawks' Jalen Johnson: Chance to return Saturday

Johnson (ankle) is questionable for Saturday's game against the Bucks, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports. Johnson has missed five straight games, but this is the first time he's drawn a questionable tag since spraining his right ankle two weeks ago. If he plays, the third-year forward may have some limitations, but he was playing well before his absence, averaging 17.8 points, 8.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.2 blocks in 34.8 minutes over his last 13 appearances.

  • Hawks' Jalen Johnson: Remains out Thursday

Johnson (ankle) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Celtics, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports. Johnson is due for another evaluation soon, but the team hasn't released an official update since he was diagnosed with a right ankle sprain last Thursday. His next chance to suit up will come Saturday versus Milwaukee, while De'Andre Hunter and Vit Krejci should continue to see increased playing time until Johnson returns.

  • Hawks' Jalen Johnson: Exits with ankle injury

Johnson went to the locker room late in the fourth quarter after suffering an apparent right ankle injury in Monday's game against the Lakers, Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times reports. He finished with 25 points (9-20 FG, 2-11 3Pt, 5-6 FT), nine rebounds, four assists and one block in 32 minutes. Johnson appeared to roll the same ankle that forced him to miss three games earlier in the month, and he immediately headed to the locker room to get checked out. Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network notes that Johnson was able to return to the bench area a short time after, though he didn't re-enter the contest with Atlanta facing a huge deficit and just a few minutes remaining in the contest. Look for head coach Quin Snyder to provide an update on Johnson's status following the game.

  • Hawks' Jalen Johnson: Hits for 26 in Utah

Johnson (ankle) produced 26 points (8-23 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 6-10 FT), five rebounds and five assists over 35 minutes during Friday's 124-122 loss to the Jazz. Returning from a three-game absence due to an ankle sprain, Johnson tied his season high in made three-pointers and looked fully healthy. The third-year forward had been averaging 16.5 points, 9.8 boards, 4.1 assists, 1.1 three-pointers and 1.1 blocks in the 14 games prior to getting hurt against the Cavaliers on March 6, and he could be gearing up for a big finish to his breakout campaign.

Johnson (ankle) is out for Wednesday's game versus the Trail Blazers, Lauren L. Williams of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. • Hawks' Jalen Johnson: Doubtful for Wednesday

Johnson (ankle) is doubtful for Wednesday's game against Portland, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports. Johnson will likely miss a third straight game due to a right ankle sprain. The Hawks had previously been listing Johnson as out a day in advance of games, so the doubtful tag is a sign that he's trending in the right direction. If Johnson is held out as expected Wednesday, he could return to action Friday versus the Jazz.

  • Hawks' Jalen Johnson: Out for Friday's game

Johnson (ankle) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Grizzlies and is considered day-to-day, Lauren L. Williams of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Johnson suffered a left ankle sprain in Wednesday's 112-101 win over the Cavaliers, finishing with seven points (3-5 FG, 1-2 3Pt), four rebounds, four assists and one block across 19 minutes before exiting. Though X-rays on Johnson's ankle returned negative, his sprain is significant enough to keep him out of commission for the first time since Dec. 23. Though Johnson didn't travel with the Hawks to Memphis, he could be available for Sunday's home game versus the Pelicans. In Johnson's absence Friday, De'Andre Hunter will most likely move into the starting five.

  • Hawks' Jalen Johnson: Sniffs triple-double in win

Johnson posted 26 points (12-17 FG, 2-3 3Pt), nine rebounds, seven assists and one steal across 38 minutes during Tuesday's 116-100 win over the Knicks. Johnson has been one of the most productive players for the Hawks this season, and his numbers have experienced a remarkable uptick over the last few months, particularly when he took over the starting power forward role. Johnson is averaging 16.5 points, 9.8 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.1 blocks per game since the beginning of February.

  • Hawks' Jalen Johnson: Scores 14 points in loss

Johnson racked up 14 points (5-12 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 3-4 FT), five rebounds and two blocks over 33 minutes during Thursday's 124-97 loss to the Nets. Johnson saw his double-double streak end Thursday, but that's not much of a surprise since the Hawks mustered only 97 points and were outplayed by the Nets on both ends of the court. One bad game is not going to throw Johnson's impressive season into the trash, however, as the former first-round pick has progressed immensely over the last few months. Since the start of February, Johnson has averaged 16.5 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game. To put things into perspective, those three figures would be his career-best marks if sustained for an entire campaign.
