Making Picks
The Playoff Pick'em Challenge will run for the four weeks of the NFL playoffs. The Administrator will list selected scheduled NFL games and Winning Margins on the CBSI Site for each weekly playoff period (each, a "Round"). You may pick the team you predict will win each game, in each Round as they become available. Once playoff teams are official, Round 1 (Wild Card Round) will become available for users to select their pick on or around January 4th, 2021. Games in subsequent rounds 2,3, and 4 will be available for selection on the Tuesday following the end of the previous round. In order to participate in the Challenge initially, participants must: (i) go to the CBSI Site; (ii) pick the team(s) they predict will beat the Winning Margin (as defined below) from amongst the available match-ups listed; (iii) login to their CBSSports.com account if not already logged in (or create an account if you do not have one); (v) create an entry name; and (vi) submit your picks, in order to complete your initial entry for the Challenge. Once you have initially registered for the challenge and created an entry name, you will not need to do so if you login in under your ID for the following rounds.
PLEASE NOTE: There are four (4) total rounds to this challenge and the cumulative scores of all (4) four rounds will be used to determine a winner. All picks are automatically saved; every time you make a change to your picks, the changes will be automatically saved and will override your previous picks.
In the Championship Round (round 4) a tie-breaker question will be displayed, you will need to predict the final score for the NFC team as Tiebreaker 1 and the AFC team as Tiebreaker 2. The participant must hit the 'save tie-breaker' button to save such scores. These predicted final scores will be used as tiebreakers (further explained below), if applicable. In the event you end up in a tie, and you have not entered and saved the tie-breaker prediction, you will not be eligible for consideration, for the tie-break. You do not need to make picks for every game listed as "available" at the time you enter your picks in the Challenge, however we suggest you do.
Scoring
Participants will receive (1) point for each correct pick they make. In subsequent rounds, the point values will increase for each correct pick according to the table below. All matchups listed as available for the Challenge each week, will be assigned a Winning Margin by CBSI, at its sole discretion. "Winning Margins" is defined as the number of points by which one team, the "favorite" is expected to beat its opponent, the "underdog." Participants must select the team that will beat the Winning Margin in order to make a correct pick. A team will be considered to beat the Winning Margin in the following instances: the favorite team's actual score minus the Winning Margin exceeds the underdog's score; OR the underdog's actual score plus the winning margin exceeds the favorite's score. Eligible participants who correctly select the most teams that beat the Winning Margin for the duration (4 rounds) of the Challenge may win the Grand Prize (as defined and set forth in prize section below) in accordance with these Official Rules.
To provide an example for scoring, a user can score a maximum 6 points in round one (6 games X 1pt each), a maximum of 8 Points in Round 2 (4 game x 2pt each), a maximum 6 points in Round 3 (2 games x 3pt each), and a maximum of 4 points in round 4 (1 game x 4pts)
