2020 Fantasy Football Dynasty Rankings, PPR: Proven expert says draft Melvin Gordon, fade Raheem Mostert

Locking in a centerpiece quarterback is part of any Fantasy football strategy, and those who went with Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott last season weren't disappointed. Prescott was second in the NFL with 4,902 passing yards and fourth in the league with 30 passing touchdowns. As a result, owners who want to lock down Prescott this season will likely have to slot him high in their 2020 Fantasy football rankings.

But will Prescott, who is still seeking a long-term extension from the Cowboys, see a regression in from his fine form last season, ticking him down 2020 Fantasy football dynasty rankings? Or will he continue to shine in the Lone Star State? Before you make any decisions, you'll want to see what SportsLine's Scott Engel has to say.

Engel is an inaugural member of the Fantasy Sports Writers Association's Hall of Fame and has been a premier analyst and Fantasy personality for nearly 25 years. He is a four-time FSWA Award Winner and nine-time nominee.

In addition to being the Fantasy writer for the official site of the Seattle Seahawks since 2012, Engel has appeared on ESPN.com, NFL.com, Yahoo Sports, the New York Post, USA Today, SI.com and many other major sports news outlets. Engel also pulled off a three-peat in his highly-competitive New York City Fantasy football league in 2019 that features high-stakes players and top Fantasy experts.

Now, Engel has released his 2020 Fantasy football dynasty rankings and revealed his top sleepers, breakouts and busts so you'll have an edge in your Fantasy football dynasty league for years to come.

Top 2020 Fantasy football Dynasty picks

One player Engel is extremely high on in his Fantasy football dynasty rankings 2020: Broncos running back Melvin Gordon. After three years with the Chargers, Gordon moved to the division-rival Broncos via a two-year, $16 million contract with $13.5 million guaranteed.

Gordon played 12 games in 2019 following a four-game holdout, carrying the ball 162 times for 612 yards and scoring eight touchdowns. The Broncos now possess a formidable 1-2 RB punch, as Phillip Lindsay led the Broncos in carries (224), yards rushing (1,011) and rushing touchdowns (seven) last season. Signing Gordon will certainly help Denver offensively, as the Broncos finished 2019 ranked 28th or worse in total offense, scoring, passing offense and red-zone performance.

"I like Gordon a lot to have a bounce-back year because he will return to being a featured back in a good situation," Engel told SportsLine. "Offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur prefers to lean on one running back, and Gordon will be his primary choice."

And a massive shocker: Engel says 49ers running back Raheem Mostert, who had 220 yards and four touchdowns in the NFC Championship game, doesn't even crack the top 25 at his position.

After spending the first 10 games of the season as a relative afterthought in San Francisco's running back rotation, Mostert came on strong with eight total touchdowns in the final six weeks of the regular season. Then, he exploded for 220 yards and four scores against the Packers.

However, Mostert saw his snap share drop from 82 percent to 62 percent from the NFC title game to the Super Bowl and only had 12 carries in the big game. Mostert will likely be a major part of the running back rotation in 2020, but it seems unlikely that Kyle Shanahan will abandon the running back by committee approach that worked so well a season ago. That's why Engel ranks Mostert as his No. 26 Fantasy running back for dynasty leagues, an RB3.
