Many fans had high expectations for Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray this season, but were left disappointed. Murray had a particularly poor showing last Monday in a 34-11 wild card loss to the Los Angeles Rams, which ended Arizona's season and created a hole in NFL Playoff Challenge lineups heading into the divisional round, which starts on Saturday. Some will be fortunate to have rostered one of the quarterbacks that had a bye week to fill in, while others may have to get creative with their options.

Eight teams remain in the 2022 NFL playoffs, but who are the best players to replace those who were bounced last weekend? Can Tennessee's Ryan Tannehill pick up the slack for those who were banking on Murray in their NFL Playoff Challenge strategy? Before you lock in your 2022 NFL Playoff Challenge picks, be sure to see what SportsLine's Mike McClure has to say.

Top NFL Playoff Challenge picks for the divisional round

One of McClure's top NFL Playoff Challenge picks for the divisional round: the Chiefs' defense. Last weekend, the defense that produced the most turnovers in the league (Dallas) and the one that finished with the most sacks (Pittsburgh) were both eliminated. Kansas City is an under-the-radar replacement for either in what would typically look like an undesirable matchup against Buffalo.

Even though the Chiefs had one of the lower team sack totals in the league this season, they managed to pressure opposing passers a robust 26.4 percent of the time. One of the keys to Kansas City's chances this weekend is disrupting Bills quarterback Josh Allen, and defensive tackle Chris Jones leads the Chiefs in QB hurries (16) and sacks (nine).

Another part of McClure's optimal NFL Playoff Challenge lineup includes rostering Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp. He caught five of seven targets for 61 yards and a touchdown in Monday's victory over the Cardinals. The game got out of hand quickly with Los Angeles jumping out to a 28-0 lead, which handcuffed Kupp's production.

Kupp is expected to be more involved in the Rams' offensive game plan against the Buccaneers on Sunday. Tampa Bay's passing defense finished the regular season ranked 21st in the NFL, allowing 238.9 yards per game on average. Kupp also torched the Buccaneers in September, finishing with nine receptions for 96 yards and two touchdowns.
