McDonald was listed as the only starting tight end on the first unofficial depth chart released by the 49ers on Tuesday, CSN Bay Area reports.

At the beginning of training camp it seemed like the 49ers were leaning towards co-starting McDonald and Garrett Celek, but the former had a stronger preseason and developed a strong rapport with Blaine Gabbert to earn the starting job. McDonald was Gabbert's most-targeted receiver this preseason and he also presents the biggest red zone target for the starting quarterback. There is a strong chance he outperforms his draft slot, especially in PPR formats.
