Redmond (knee) has been selected to return from the IR but has not yet officially been activated, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.

Redmond was placed on the IR before the beginning of the regular season as he was still recovering from a torn ACL he suffered in 2015. Now healthy, the rookie will have a 21-day window to begin practicing with the team but cannot play in a game until Week 9. The 49ers have dealt with several secondary injuries this season, so having Redmond back on the depth chart will hopefully shore up some of those holes. Look for more updates on his official activation to come sometime in the next two weeks.
