The Ravens signed Collins to their practice squad Tuesday.

The 2016 fifth-round pick performed adequately as a rookie when injuries decimated the Seahawks' running-back depth, averaging 4.0 yards per carry and scoring one touchdown while appearing in 11 games. However, with the offseason pickup of Eddie Lacy in addition to the likes of Thomas Rawls and C.J. Prosise escaping the preseason with their health intact, the Seahawks didn't have room on the roster for Collins, who was waived over the weekend. Though Collins was unable to find a spot on another 53-man roster, the Ravens' practice squad could provide the second-year player with a decent avenue to returning to the NFL. With Kenneth Dixon (knee) out for the season, and Terrance West and Javorius Allen both averaging under four yards per carry for their careers, it might not even take another injury for Collins to earn a look from Baltimore at some point later in the season.
