Trevathan (elbow) will have the opportunity to make a significant impact in Chicago's linebacker corps in 2020 when he returns to the starting lineup, Colleen Kane of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Trevathan, who signed a three-year, $24 million extension in March, was forced to miss the final seven games of the 2019 campaign due to a significant elbow injury. Now with the benefit of a full offseason to focus on health, Trevathan's return to the starting lineup has a real chance to facilitate a bounceback for Chicago's inside linebacker corps. Teammate Roquan Smith (pectoral), who was impeded down the stretch without Trevathan, described the veteran's imminent return as "awesome" while citing the importance of his experience and mentorship.
