Trevathan suffered a ruptured patellar tendon in his right knee during Sunday's loss to the Titans and will miss the rest of this season on injured reserve.

Trevathan currently ranks second on the Bears with 66 tackles (49 solo) and also posted a sack prior to going down Sunday. His injury is a tough blow after signing a lucrative four-year contract back in March, as he'll now become the latest Chicago player with a season-ending ailment to nurse going into the offseason. With him out, Christian Jones figures to see more action at inside linebacker.
