Bills' Ed Oliver: Significant competition for reps

Oliver (abdomen) will have competition for reps following the offseason additions of Vernon Butler and Quinton Jefferson, Vic Carucci of The Buffalo News reports.
The departure of Jordan Phillips earlier in the offseason appeared to create a clear path toward a starting spot for Oliver, but Buffalo added some reliable veterans in Butler and Jefferson to the interior defensive line while also bringing in Mario Addison and second-round pick A.J. Epenesa on the edge. Oliver had a decent rookie showing with 43 total tackles and five sacks in 16 games last year, but he underwent core muscle surgery in January and was arrested on DWI and weapons charges in March. The young defensive tackle could be subject to discipline from the league regardless of how his legal situation unfolds.
