Pierre-Paul (shoulder) has been downgraded to out for Sunday's contest at Carolina, Greg Auman of The Athletic reports.
Pierre-Paul opened Week 16 prep but then didn't practice at all Thursday and Friday, earning a doubtful designation on the Bucs' final injury report. He's dealt with a shoulder injury for much of the season, but Sunday's absence will mark his first since Week 4. Expect rookie Joe Tryon-Shoyinka to take on a larger pass-rushing role in Pierre-Paul's stead.
