Bye-bye James Jones' Fantasy value

So James Jones signed with the Raiders on Monday night. And on Monday night, James Jones' Fantasy value died.

It's nice that Jones gets to go home to where he grew up as a product of the Bay Area, and he went to college at San Jose State. He also gets a quality pay day with a three-year, $11.3 million deal.

But Jones is now in Fantasy purgatory, at least in my eyes. The Raiders currently don't have a quarterback and will probably lean on a rookie this season. There are going to be plenty of growing pains. That's not good.

Jones is a product of the Green Bay offense and Aaron Rodgers. He has never had more than 820 receiving yards over seven seasons or caught 65 passes in a year. He had one dynamic season for Fantasy owners in 2012 when he scored 14 touchdowns, but Oakland's receivers combined for 10 touchdowns last season (Denarius Moore had five, Rod Streater had four and Andre Holmes had one).

Some will consider Jones a No. 3 Fantasy receiver because of his opportunity as the "No. 1" guy in Oakland. Have fun with that, but I won't be drafting Jones this season.
