The projected timetable has yet to be confirmed by the Cardinals, but it aligns with what prior reports suggested after Johnson suffered the injury in the team's season-opening loss to the Lions. Assuming the length of the absence holds true, Johnson would likely be placed on injured reserve as one of the Cardinals' players designated to return later in the season, per Schefter. In the meantime, the Cardinals are expected to sign D.J. Foster off the Patriots' practice squad to bolster their depth at running back while Johnson is sidelined, though it's likely that Kerwynn Williams will assume lead back duties while Andre Ellington and Elijhaa Penny see elevated snap counts in reserve roles.
