Ward was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday after testing positive for the virus, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Ward was a late addition to the injury report ahead of last Thursday's win over the Chargers due to an illness, but he suited up for the contest and notched a season-high 10 tackles. Though the previous ailment wasn't COVID-19-related, Ward has now tested positive, putting his availability for the Chiefs' Week 16 game against the Steelers in question. If vaccinated, Ward will need to be asymptomatic of the virus within the next few days to have any chance of playing Sunday.
