Ward sustained a fractured hand during Thursday's 34-20 win over the Texans, Adam Teicher of ESPN.com reports.
Ward's injury makes him likely to miss time, so the Chiefs could opt to place him on injured reserve for a minimum of three weeks. Rookie fourth-round pick L'Jarius Sneed, who had three tackles, two defended passes and one interception in his NFL debut Thursday, stands to see increased snaps if Ward is indeed forced to miss any games.
