Barwin was released by the Eagles on Thursday.

An eight-year pro, Barwin has spent his last four seasons with the Eagles. Although he started 16 games last season, his production suffered a drop-off, as Barwin recorded a three-year low sack total (5.0). Even though Barwin is now on the wrong side of 30, his consistency has been tremendous, as 2016 was the sixth year in a row he started all 16 regular-season games. Although his presence will be missed, Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Enquirer reports the move will save the Eagles $7.75 million in cap room.
